Open Architecture

RiversEdge’s open architecture platform provides unrestricted access to thousands of mutual fund and options that can be used in constructing a plan’s investment menu, and never limits those to only those offered by a single source fund family or an insurance company.

Because we are independent, we don’t put restrictions and limitations around your ability to offer the most appropriate investments for your plan, including actively traded funds, index funds, and target-date funds. If there is any revenue sharing received from the funds chosen for the plan, 100% will be credited back to the plan.

Other Options

Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs)

ETFs are a type of pooled investment security that operate much like a mutual fund. Typically, ETFs will track a particular index, sector, commodity, or other asset. An ETF may be structured to track anything from the price of an individual commodity to a large and diverse collection of securities, and ETFs may even be structured to track specific investment strategies.

Self-Directed Brokerage Accounts (SDBAs)

SDBAs provide access to investments beyond the core plan options, including individual stocks and bonds, and other items.

Collective Investment Trusts (CITs)

CITs may enable plans to access an even more cost-effective investment universe. A CIT is a group of pooled accounts held by a bank or trust company. The financial institution groups assets to develop a single larger, diversified portfolio.

Money Market Deposit Accounts

A cash deposit option that offers participants an FDIC eligible* deposit product as an alternative to money market funds, stable value products, and single bank deposits.

Unitized Accounts

For handling custom portfolios, company stock and other specialized investments.

Choices aren’t limited to mutual funds only. All of the options below are also available

Investment and Portfolio Models

In addition to the options already identified, financial partners and plan sponsors are able to use investment and / or portfolio models in their plans.

There are several benefits to using these types of models, including the benefits experienced by financial partners who can apply their expertise towards a plan’s investments, and participants who can invest in a diversified portfolio in a simple and straight-forward manner.

RiversEdge offers this in our standard pricing, and we will work with you to select the approach that best fits your needs.
